Food waste
Diverted, not landfilled
Food waste, kept out of landfill.
Kitchen and canteen scraps collected separately, weighed on every lift, and sent to a consented composting or organics processor — so the weight you divert is measured, not estimated.
A few habits protect the whole load.
Food scraps travel together — one contaminated caddy can send the whole load back to landfill.
Flagged, fixed, then re-measured.
What goes in — and what stays out.
One clean organics stream — so the scraps your team sorts actually get composted.
Food-waste questions, answered.
Where does the food waste go?
To a consented composting or organics processor, not landfill. The destination is recorded against your site each month.
Do you take meat, fish and bones?
Most of what a commercial kitchen produces is accepted. A few processors exclude certain items — we confirm what yours takes at quote stage.
What about compostable packaging?
Only certified-compostable liners, and only where the processor accepts them. Ordinary or 'degradable' plastic contaminates the load.
How do you keep smell and pests down?
Smaller bins collected more often, sealed caddies, and a rinse-and-swap on each lift. We size frequency to your volume.
Is it weighed like the other streams?
Yes — every caddy or bin is weighed on collection, so your diverted weight is measured and reported monthly.
Do we need to separate it ourselves?
Yes — scraps go in the caddy at the source. Clean separation is what keeps it out of landfill and out of the general bin.
